KANYASHREE SCHEME 

Under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006 (PCMA), 18 is the legal age of marriage for girls, and 21 for boys in India. Despite several years of this Act being in existence, the early marriage of children continues to be practiced in West Bengal. Kanyashree Prakalpa seeks to improve the status and well being of girls, specifically those from socio-economically disadvantages families through Condiational Cash Transfers by: Incentivizing them to continue in education for a Kanyashree's core objectives are simple and focussed: it aims to ensure that girls stay in school and delay their marriages till at least age 18.

SABUJSATHI SCHEME 

Government of West Bengal has declared a scheme titled “Sabooj Sathi” for distribution of bi-cycles to the students of class IX to XII in all Govt. run/ Govt. aided/ Govt. sponsored schools. Students of Class X to XII will be covered in the current financial year (2015-16). Students of Class IX will be covered in the next financial year. Target is to cover more or less 40 students in the State. Objective of the scheme is to encourage students in higher education and to reduce drop outs.

YUVASHREE SCHEME  

Yuvasree is a financial assistance scheme of Government of West Bengal for the unemployed youth of West Bengal. This Yuvasree, scheme was previously known by Yuva Utsaha Prakolpo (YUP). From October, 2013 This Scheme has been implemented. This scheme is maintained by the Labour Department of West Bengal.
